MEET our BOARD
Mike Simons, Board Treasurer,
was CFO of Blauer Manufacturing Company, a privately held company that provides designs, manufactures, and distributes uniforms, outerwear, rainwear, and protective equipment to the Public Safety sector.
He has been recognized as a leader in the financial communityin Boston and nationally, serving as President of both The Treasurers’ Club of Boston, and the Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International. During Mike’s Boston Chapter Leadership tenure, Boston won FEI’s national award as Best Large Chapter. He received the Chapter’s F. Gorham Brigham, Jr. Achievement Award.
Mike served as Vice Chairman and Trustee of the Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF) and was on the Boards of Community Work Services and New England School of Acupuncture. He presently serves on the Board of Outer Cape Health Care, a federally funded, multi-location health care organization.
Mike received a BA from Clark University and MBA from UMass’ Isenberg School. He was a CPA with PWC and worked for public and private companies until joining Blauer in 1995. He retired at the end of 2013 and currently serves as a trustee of several Blauer family trusts and the company’s retirement plans.
Mike lives in Wellfleet, MA with his wife, Peggy, and enjoys kayaking, birding, and cooking. He formerly drove a Formula Ford racecar, is a fan of Formula 1, and is attempting to learn to play the cello. He is one of Mass Audubon’s Volunteer Naturalists.
